Compliance
Narrative/Justification for Judgment of Compliance:
Christopher Newport University is in compliance with this standard. The responsibilities of members of the Board of Visitors are noted in the By-Laws Article II of which states that removal of a Visitor shall be pursuant to statute. A board member may be dismissed for failing to perform the duties of office without just cause. The Rector enters the failure of performance and duties into the minutes of Board proceedings and certifies the same to the Governor. After the board has certified failure to the governor, the office of the visitor is considered vacant. CNU does not have an incident of removal of a board member.
